Color the Kingdom is open to all ages and will start in Craftsbury Village at Creek Rd, down to King Farm Road, across Young Rd, and back down Creek Road to the finish! At each checkpoint volunteers will toss fun chalk colors at runners! Color powder is non-toxic, biodegradable and completely safe, but may stain clothing. We suggest wearing inexpensive light clothes.

Registration includes entry in either the run or walk, a pair of sunglasses and a packet of color! It’s just $20 Adult (18 & up), $10 Children (7 & up), and $40 for a family.

“Color the Kingdom was my chance to see the community collectively smile, get covered in colors, and have a ridiculously fun time getting messy.” – Ethan Hibbard

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the 5k course?

The course is all dirt roads, except for a short section of paved road at the start. The run/walk starts in Craftsbury Village just north of the Town Hall. Turn right on Creek Road and left on King Farm Road. Take the next right on Young Road to return to Creek Road. At the junction with Creek Road, turn left for an out and back section before continuing on Creek Road to the finish line at the Catholic Church in Craftsbury Village.

Where Do I Park?

Parking will be in the Craftsbury Village, as will the registration table where you can pick up your Run / Walk Number!

Is the Color Safe?

Absolutely! The color powder we will be using for the event is all certified non-toxic and free of any heavy metals. The bright colors are a combination of cornstarch, baking soda, and FD&C dyes. As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes and our color volunteers will make sure to aim low as you pass by. Some Color Runners opt to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandanna or dust mask for their mouths, but this isn’t necessary.

Does the Color Wash Out?

Although the Color does mostly washout we recommend wearing clothing and shoes that you wouldn’t mind staying colorful just in case. It does wash off skin and hair easily but it may stain fabric. We recommend washing and treating fabric as soon as possible if you wish to remove the color. We also suggest bringing a towel to cover your car seat or perhaps a change of clothes.

Can I bring a Camera/ Phone to the Event?

If you choose to bring a camera / phone/ or smart device to the event we recommend that it is fully wrapped or covered in a plastic bag. The color powder is very fine and could get inside the device. So just be Careful! Post run photos are much safer than color powder action shots. WonderArts will not be responsible for any damage as signed in the registration agreement.

Can I bring my dog/ pet?

Service dogs are of course welcome and color is safe for them.  For the safety of other runners though, we do ask that other pets be left at home.

Are Children Allowed?

Yes of course! They are however only allowed to register for the Walk. Children under 7 years old can join your Walk for free but will not receive a number. Children over 7 will need to be registered separately.

Is the Run timed/ is it a race?

No! The Color the Kingdom run is for FUN not for glory. If you want to keep your own time by all means do so, but the event is more about promoting wellness, healthy activity, community engagement, raising money for a great cause and having fun!

How is color administered in the race?

Color will be thrown/ sprayed on runners at each kilometer checkpoint by volunteers. By the end of the course, each participant will be covered in all colors imaginable!

Will there be water?

Yes! Participants will be provided with water along the course and a light post course snack.

What if it rains?

In the event of light showers the run will move forward just be sure to dress for the occasion as it may be chillier. If there is a storm however or severe weather advisory the event will move to its swing date, July 16th.
